Once labelled the most famous club in the world, The Haçienda opened in 1982 and quickly found its place as the genesis of a new urbanism in Manchester. The maelstrom of creative talent which founded the club attracted a new generation of young consumers into the city, who in turn helped to transform a grey post-industrial landscape into an exemplar of urban leisure and sociability.
Rendered in our distinctive pen and ink style, the design is framed by the club’s iconic industrial stripes, and ornamented with two records and a heavy spotlight.
Each H Tile is designed here in Manchester then hand-rolled and glazed in the UK’s ceramic heartland Stoke-on-Trent, before returning for firing in local kilns. A fitting end for a quintessentially Mancunian statement.
